Charities

There are two different ways to secure locations for your machines. You can gain a location by offering the business owner a monthly commission based on the revenue the machine produces. This is the way to go when you are dealing with larger equipment that takes up a considerable amount of their space and usually requires an electric or water supply on their behalf. It is best to start out offering a 10% commission and not anything over 25%. You must make it clear that the commission is based on net income as opposed to gross income. If you have smaller equipment such as a bulk candy machine, you do not want to mess with commissions at all. It is too much of a hassle as you have to meet with a manager every time you service the machine, determine the amount, and give up a lot of your income. In these cases, it is better to sponsor a charity. Most businesses are more apt to allow your placement when they know it is going to a good cause. Many business owners appreciate the value in supporting charitable causes and would rather do that than receive money from you. This is also much more hassle free for you and much more cost effective as most charities will ask for one dollar per machine every month from you. It is best to find a local charity in your area as many businesses like to give support in their local community.
